Description of an animal: There is only an animal that I personally observe, it is the Lion. The Lion is an exceptional animal, and every everytime that I have the opportunity to see it at zoos or safaris, I keep staring at it for hours. This is because the lion, as if it were a person, is the leader of the animal kingdom. There is NO other animal that can eat lions, but themselves. I admire this animal because of the personality it has. Lions are born a leader, the animal that puts everything into place in their prides. That powerful body they have, capable of scaring others, those powerful legs they possess, the instinct they have to look for a prey and hunt it. Something that I also admire about lions is the ability they have to keep the same area for many years. This is something amazing due to the great defense they have in their pride. They all fought as one when they attacked. Lions are usually attacked by hyenas looking for the newborns. Not only that, but the majesty and courage they represent in the animal kingdom is something a lot of people do not realize. Majesty because of how respected they are, also that good-looking body and hair they possess. Courage because they do not give up even if they are being defeated. Lions have an enormous leadership that shows up when beasts want to attack prides. The big claws that lions have make animals being scared of these big cats are something to be fearful of. This is because of the great power these claws have, which would destroy basically anything on their path. In religion, for instance, God is referred to as a lion because lions have all the authority and power over all creation on Earth. Although lions can live up to 21 years, zoos have reduced that life to 12 years. Lions have the ability to lead, fight, hunt, defend and live their lives as good as they would like to. Lions are the king of beasts, the king of the animal kingdom.

Rethorical Analysis Essay Self-Reflection: Throughout the development of the Rhetorical Analysis Essay, I found myself struggling with the rhetorical terms. Honestly, “medium” and “genre” were the ones that I found so hard to describe and explain in my essay. I’d say that these two were difficult because of how I structured my essay, which was based only on explaining how the article works and what the author says, with its purpose, rather than describing medium and genre. Although this was difficult to accomplish, writing essays is something that I do enjoy, actually. So, writing this essay was a nice process since the topic I chose was of my interest and something I wanted to investigate and write about. Additionally, something that I learned was to peer review correctly. This is because I was used to changing a lot of things in my peers’ essays, but in this class I realized that only very important things should be changed in order to be explained or described better. Not only that, but learning how to search for sources that correctly addressed my position, my topic, and my purpose to write about Space Exploration. At the end, I found the article that I used, and it was really helpful to have that class in the library where we learned how to find sources. Also, integrating my own summary about what the article talks about and trying to stay neutral at the interpretation about the topic since I had to explain the article, not to have an opinion about it – which was difficult, honestly. The critical analysis that this essay has brought to be is something that I will continue to use not only on my assignments, but in my life. This is because the analysis that I used in my essay was to explain the author’s purpose rather than to have an opinion or thought and that was so hard for me since I like to explain everything I see from my perspective. Though it was hard to accomplish all of the requirements for the essay, I feel very comfortable about the result and the outcome of my work. Lastly, it was a wonderful experience, I learned a lot and also I loved the time we had to complete this. No rush, just taking our time and doing peer review, comments and with professor Benjamin’s help was amazing.

Argument Essay Self-Reflection: Throughout the making of my argument essay I found a few obstacles. First of all, it was the fact that I thought it was gonna be easier than the Rhetorical Analysis Essay, and it was not. I thought that at first because “it was only defending my position”, but after I realized that it is more than that. So, putting all the evidence together, explaining it and then defending my position was something very hard for me – I did it in the end though. I developed strategies of reading and writing my essay because of the 5 pieces of evidence we had to use. Reading, taking out the important excerpts and then putting them into the structure of the essay was something I found interesting and hard at the same time. In addition, developing the writing process of thinking and interconnecting everything. Not only that, but finding the evidence and making sure it was scholarly. During the time I was making my essay, I tried so hard not to repeat myself and the evidence I used. However, I did at some point, but I was really trying to explain the evidence and giving it a little bit more of context in order to explain and argue about it.

Assessment of PAC: Personally, I did like working with my group and how we divided the points and requirements we needed to fulfil. The contribution of my group and myself was very responsible and talkative about any doubt or hesitation we could have. Our campaign met the expectations that we have but working in group is sometimes difficult because of the many ideas that are not said, or not taken into consideration because it might be different from what the rest of the group wants to do and consider putting into the final project. Inside our website, a list of how-to are shown, media, pictures and writing pieces that connects to the topic and how it can be accomplished through time. Honestly, working in groups is something that not all students like because of how ideas are different, how they’re taken in consideration and how it might not be what you like.
